Alexander Basil, Jr.

Alexander Basil, Jr., 74, of Muncy, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

Born November 1, 1947 in Rockville Centre, NY, he was the son of the late Alexander and Doris (Tilton) Basil.  On October 7, 1979 he married the former Marietta Solieri and they have celebrated 42 years of marriage.

He was a 1966 graduate of East Meadow High School, Long Island, NY and honorably served in the US Navy.

He enjoyed karate, native American flutes, and Intarsia woodworking.  He was a loving and devoted family-man and especially loved spending time with his granddaughters.

Surviving besides his wife, Marietta Basil of Muncy are five children: Dawn Marie Garcynski and her husband Steve; Ginger Triscele and her husband Keith; John K. Basil and his wife Jodi; Brenda Dione Basil; and Robert Silvio Basil and his fiance Caroline Fox; three granddaughters: Emily and Ashley Triscele and Aribella Thomas; and two sisters: Marjorie Wood and Barbara Talbot and her husband James.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother-in-law, Donald Wood.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services held.
