Blaine Rider Obituary

Blaine L. Rider, 52, of Hughesville, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024 while vacationing in the finger lakes region of New York.

Born August 4, 1971 in Muncy, he was the son of John Rider of Eagles Mere, and the late Melody A. (Fox) Bartlett.

On January 16, 2021 he married the former Julia L. O'Connor and they have celebrated three wonderful years of marriage.

Blaine was a 1989 graduate of Hughesville High School and attended the Williamsport Area Community College, completing the technical program of welding.
  
He began his welding career at Logue Industries for George E. Logue on July 24, 1990, to become an excellent fabricator/welder.

He was a member of the 40 & 8 Club of Hughesville, enjoyed motorcross, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, and going to Canada with his family. He gave everything he did the Rider Shine.

Surviving besides his wife, Julia, is his father and step-mother, John and Deanne Rider of Eagles Mere; his step-father, Don Bartlett of Hughesville; a brother Ron Rider and his wife Donna Lee of Hughesville; a step-daughter, Chelsea Minnick and her husband Anthony of Hughesville; two grandsons: Gannon and Brantley James Minnick; a step-sister Valerie Rider of Muncy Valley; three step-brothers: Gary Stanton of Hughesville, Ryan Stanton of Winfield, and Wes Brink of Williamsport.  Also surviving are three very close nieces: Samantha, Sabrina, and Savannah Rider; and numerous other nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, Jr.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 5 to 7:00 PM at Hughesville Funeral Home and Cremation Svc., Inc., 5069 Route 220, Hughesville.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to either the Mapleton Community Center, C/O Chalmer VanHorn, 643 Fogelman Road, Muncy, PA 17756 or the Lycoming County Camp Cadet Program, 899 Cherry St., Montoursville PA 17754.
