Bruce L. Barto

Bruce L. Barto, 87, of Hughesville, entered the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

Born August 2, 1932 in Penn Twp., Lycoming County, he was the son of the late Jacob and Hazel (Reese)Barto.  On December 24, 1951 he married the former Betty J. Taylor and they have celebrated 68 years of marriage.

He was employed at Schnadig Corporation, Montoursville for 40 years until retiring.  He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Hughesville and enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.

Surviving besides his wife are a son and daughter: Rodney L. Barto and his wife Tina and Deborah A. Myers and her husband Edgar, all of Hughesville; seven grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Clarence “Toots” Barto and his wife Arlene and a sister, Elva Mae Worthington, both of Hughesville.

He was preceded in death by five brothers: Grant, Monroe, Clayton, Donald, and Jacob Barto, who died in infancy; and two sisters: Glenna Montague and Murl Fiester.

A private graveside service in Mt. Zion Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
