Carolyn Arthur Obituary

Carolyn L. Arthur, 82, of Muncy, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023.

Born on Aug. 9, 1940 at her parents’ home in the Village of Clarkstown, she was the oldest daughter of the late John and Marion (Temple) Applegate. She is survived by her only sibling, Joyce (Robert) Braucht, of Jersey Shore.

Carolyn was a graduate of Muncy High School, and was active in the marching band as a Majorette. She worked for various companies, including Litton Industries, Five Star Air Freight, Young Industries, and Muncy Machine & Tool.

Carolyn’s “gifts of life” were her five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who she spent countless hours with. Carolyn was great-aunt CeCe to her two special boys, Issac and Louden Boring, sons of niece, Kristen (Tracey) Harer, of Clarkstown!

She enjoyed conversing on the phone for hours with her friends. She was an avid flower and landscape enthusiast. Her home on Clarkstown Road, built by her at 22 years old, was her place of comfort and joy for 61 years.

She was a life-long resident of Clarkstown, and a member of Mesiah Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Debra Gardner, of Muncy; son, Todd (Sandra) Arthur, of Muncy; grandchildren, Justin (Amber) Gardner, of Hughesville, Danielle (Edwin) Kitzmiller, Unityville, Madison (Sarah) Gardner, of Hughesville, Cameron (Katelyn) Arthur, of Muncy, and Brenden Gardner, of Hughesville; and great-grandchildren, Graden and Noel Gardner, and Aubree, Averi, and Gauge Kitzmiller.

A graveside service at Muncy Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
