Charles Yarison Obituary

Charles R. Yarison, 84, of Cogan Station, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at his home on Saturday, November 23, 2024.

Born in Williamsport on December 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Roy E. and Rosanna (McMahon) Yarison.  On February 9, 1971 he married the former Mary K. Webster and they have celebrated 53 years of marriage.

He was a 1958 graduate of Williamsport High School and graduated from the former Williamsport Area Community College where he studied electrical construction.  He retired from Elcon National in South Carolina in 2006.

He was a true "jack of all trades" and loved to build new things and fix various items.  He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Surviving besides his wife, Mary Yarison, at home. is a son, David Yarison of Harrisburg; two daughters: Cynthia Bayley of Picture Rocks and Michelle Caputo and her husband Anthony L., III, of Williamsport; a step daughter-in-law, Cynthia Sherwood; six grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death besides his parents was a son, Charles Yarison, Jr., who died in 2014; a step-daughter, Kathleen M. McGlockin; and two step-sons: Melvin Robert Sherwood, Jr. and Ronald E. Sherwood.

A private graveside service at St.John's Lutheran "Brick Church" Cemetery, Montgomery, will be held at a later date.
