Dale E. Clayton

Dale E. Clayton, 92, of Hughesville, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 28, 2022 at UPMC, Williamsport.

Born July 17, 1929 in Hughesville, he was the son of the late Dewitt and Ethel (Criswell) Clayton.  On May 23, 1958 he married the former Patricia L. "Patty" Myers and they celebrated 64 years of marriage this month.

Dale was a self-employed painter and wall-paper hanger for many years and loved playing the guitar.

Surviving besides his wife, Patty Clayton, at home, are three sons: Dale Clayton, Jr. of Muncy, Martin Clayton and his wife Pam of Montoursville, and Keith Clayton in Tennessee; two daughters: Tammy Miller and her husband Steve in Delaware and Denise Miller of Muncy; 14 grandchildren, and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Raymond Clayton of Hughesville.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Funston and a son, Thomas Clayton.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Pleasant Hill Cemetery where his grandson, Dominic Draper will be officiating.
