David N. Smith

David N. Smith, 70, of Loganton, formerly of Hughesville passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025, leaving behind his wife of nearly 28 years and best friend, Connie L. Holdren Smith.

Dave was a 1973 Grad of Hughesville High School and worked 45 years for Lycoming Silica Sand/Hanson Aggregates in Montoursville and Lightstreet, PA.  He love hunting, muscle cars, NASCAR, watching elk, and antiques

He was a avid Penn State football and wrestling fan.

In addition to his wife, Connie, he is survived by his three children: Amos Smith, Dr. Loragene Walker and her husband Eric, of Hardeesville SC, and Eugene Weaver and his wife Erica, of Loganton; eight grandchildren: Reily, Cole, Emma Smith, Dr. Erika (Tyler) Haslet, Kateyln (Henry Mock) Walker, Evan Walker, Ethan, and Emery Weaver; three great-grandchildren: Haylee, Emma, and Hank; one brother: Tom Smith; one sister: Ellie; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and his mother and father-in-law: Donnie and Elda Holdren.

Dave has joined those who have gone before him, parents: Myron and Lilian Smith; son: Caleb; Uncle Jasper and Aunt Leila Smith.

The family would like to give a thank you to all the UPMC Hospice Caregivers, Nicole and Angie, for you wonderful help during Dave's journey.

There will be a viewing held from 5 to 7 pm on Tuesday, August 19th at Hughesville Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc, 5069 Route 220 Hwy, Hughesville.  Final services will be held at the convenience of the family.
