Douglas D. Ryder, Sr.

Douglas D. Ryder, Sr., 70, of Hughesville, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 1, 2025 with his family by his side.

Born November 29, 1954 in Muncy, he was a son of the late Lem L. and Myrtle B. (Rine) Ryder.  On June 29, 1974 he married the former Martha "Marty" R. Brady and they have celebrated 51 years of marriage.

He had been employed at R & B Industries, Williamsport and Williamsport Nu Crete and was a member of Highland Lake 40 & 8.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and woodworking, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

Surviving besides his wife, Marty Ryder, is a son, Douglas D. Ryder, Jr. and his wife Lindsay and a daughter, Candi R. Gelnett and her husband Melvin, all of Hughesville; six grandchildren: Melanie and McKenna Gelnett,  Emmitt Wagner, and Megan, Sage, and Quinn Ryder; a brother, Gary Ryder and his wife Nancy of Hughesville, and a sister, Pearl Farrer of Picture Rocks.

Preceding him in death besides his parents were two sisters: June Schmounder and Gloria Hunter and two brothers: Larry Ryder, Sr. and Delbert "Del" Ryder.

A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
