F. Elwood Winter

F. Elwood Winter, 94, of Clarkstown Road, Muncy, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2025 at UPMC Gatehouse, Williamsport.

Born April 24, 1931 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Frederick S. and Ursula C. (Yocum) Winter. On March 27, 1954 he married the former Pauline R. Schultz, and together they celebrated 70 years of marriage until her passing in January.

Elwood was a 1949 graduate of Montoursville High School. He spent most of his life as a self-employed dairy farmer, but also worked for Surge Dairy and Fertrell Fertilizer Company.

He diligently studied the Bible, striving to live according to the teachings of Apostle Paul.

Elwood spent 20 years living in Florida, and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by a son, Randall E. Winter and his wife, Cecelia, of Mechanicsburg; two daughters, Virginia Wheal and her husband, Alan; and Rebecca Swales and her husband, Floyd, both of Muncy; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mark, and Sarah Winter, Amy (Chris) Moyer, Sherry (Bryson) Osman, Nicole (Brennan) Wodrig, Matthew (Monica) Swales, and Michael Swales; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Elwood was preceded in death by a brother, David Winter, and a sister, Harriett Fornwalt.

In keeping with his wishes, there will not be any services.
