James N. "Pap" Hill

James N. “Pap” Hill, 93, of Moreland Twp., passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at his home

Born January 24, 1930 in Moreland Twp., he was the son of the late Raymond R. and Sarah E. (Miller) Hill.  On December 22, 1950 he married the former Edna R. Crawford and together they celebrated 46 years of marriage until her passing on December 30, 1996.

James drove truck for Schnadig for over 30 years.  He loved working on the family farm.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and traveling.

He was a member of the East Lycoming Farm & Heritage Society and of Moreland Community Church.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren

James is survived by his daughter:  Patricia Wertz, of Muncy; an adopted son:  Donald Kulp, of Unityville; two grandsons:  Dale Wertz Jr. and Scott (Anita) Wertz; a step granddaughter:  Courtney Shoemaker; three great-grandchildren:  Nathan, Rebecca, and Mick Wertz; and four great-great-grandchildren:  Ethan, Morgan, Aubrey, and Cooper.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter:  Donna K. Hill; a brother:  Charles Hill; a grandson:  Joey Bilter; and an adopted son: Greg “Beef” Verrico.

There will be a celebration of life service held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at the Lairdsville Fire Hall, 143 School Lane, Lairdsville, PA 17742.
