Joseph T. “Joe” Baur III, 66, of Hughesville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.
Born February 10, 1958, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Joseph T., Jr. and Dorothy (Williams) Baur. On June 26, 2010 he married the former Christine E. Phillips and together they celebrated 14 years of marriage.
Joe was a graduate of Kaplan University receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources. He worked and retired from ACF Industries in Milton before working at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Williamsport the past 2 years.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and a Lego enthusiast. Joe loved spending time with his entire family and was affectionately known as “Granddude” by his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Christine, he is survived by a daughter: Helene Baur and her fiancée Andy Nelson, of Weatherly; step-son: Kyle Wagner and his wife Danielle, of Wellsboro; six grandchildren: AJ, Tyler, Kylie, Dean, Finnley, and Graham; brother: David Baur and his wife Michelle, of Holland, MI; sister: Linda Baur of Kansas City, MO; and two loyal puppies, Koree and Buddy.
A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
