Joseph Maggs Obituary

Joseph “Joey” Maggs was born July 22nd, 1970, at Divine Providence Hospital in Williamsport. Joseph was survived by his Father: Bruce Maggs; Mother: Jane Williams; Stepparents: Phillis Maggs, Eugene and Linda Gordner; Sisters: Erica Derrick and Victoria Engle; Brother: Ronald Fry; 6 children: Patrick Maggs, Derek Maggs, Ashley Sands, Kandi Maggs, David, and Christopher Johnson; 9 Grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Joseph P. Maggs, 52 has passed away Monday, February 27th, 2023. Joe (Joey) has been fighting pancreatic cancer for 2 years, but after a long hard fight Joe’s battle has come to an end. Joe was no stranger to hard work though. He worked in a factory during his early adult years. His first marriage resulted in two sons (Patrick and Derek). His second marriage resulted in 4 more children (David, Chris, Ashley, and Kandi). With more kids Joe moved into construction where he would be driving hours to work one way to provide for a family of 6 Kids.  However, that wouldn’t stop Joe from opening his doors to anyone that needed a place to stay, even if that meant he had to work a little harder to provide for those he loved. With his love he has touched the hearts of so many on his journey through life so much so that his kids were not the only ones who called Joe Dad and loved him as if they were his own. As Joe and his kids got older and started their own families Joe received his favorite title(s) of all, Pap! (Pappy Joe, Mr. Joe) Words cannot descried the joy he got from seeing his grandkids and watching them grow into the wonderful humans they are becoming. Joe had one last major career change when he moved to Florida. Joe Passed his CDL exams and became a truck driver. Joe enjoyed his Job driving truck, and did in Florida for a few years before returning to Pennsylvania  driving truck until 2021. He spent his last days living with his Dad (Bruce), Mom (Phyllis), and Son (Derek) where he spent his time with family and friends making memories that will never be forgotten.

Joseph was loved and loved his family and friends. The impact he had on all those he encountered will carry on forever. Please come out and join us to pay your respects & remember all the great times we shared with Joe as he starts his journey in heaven. He will be missed by so many.
