O. Lee Temple, 98, of Muncy, passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 at Muncy Place, Muncy.
Born March 21, 1926 in Clarkstown, he was a son of the late Oscar E. and Ardella M. (Holmes) Temple. On April 27, 1950 he married the former Cleatus E. Kahler and together they have celebrated 74 years of marriage.
He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during WWII and the Korean Conflict, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was employed for the Jewel Tea Company for 26 years and then at Woolworth's store for another 17 years.
Lee was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Muncy and the Muncy American Legion Post 268. He enjoyed going to auctions and yard sales.
Surviving besides his wife, Cleatus Temple of Muncy are a daughter, Donna Robbins and her husband Carl of Muncy Valley; two granddaughters, Tracie Beasley and her husband Steve, of Boyertown and Shannon Dunham and her husband Scott, of Eagles Mere; four great-grandchildren, Maddyx and Adler Beasley, and Caddis and Wren Dunham; and a sister, Freda Pepperman of Montoursville.
Preceding him in death besides his parents were three brothers: Harold, Earl, and Floyd Temple.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 12:30 to 1:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Hughesville Funeral Home and Cremation Svc, Inc., 5069 Route 220 Highway, Hughesville where the funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM with his pastor, Rev. Peter Harer, officiating. Burial will be held privately in Muncy Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in his memory be made to the Lycoming County SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701 or to St. James Episcopal Church, 215 South Main Street, Muncy, PA 17756.
