Phyllis Phillips, 91, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, in Berwick, Pennsylvania. Born on March 16, 1935, in Trenton, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Reed.
Phyllis dedicated much of her life to a career in the restaurant industry. She worked as a waitress, hostess, and cashier at several beloved New Jersey diners, including the Gateway Diner, the Cranbury Grille, and the Hightstown Diner. Her talents extended beyond these roles as she operated the kitchens at both the Cranbury and Peddie Golf Courses. For a time, she also managed her own establishment, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit and dedication to her craft.
A resilient and hardworking woman, Phyllis was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by her brother Nelson; her sons Robert (Deborah) and William (Jennifer); her daughter Virginia; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; all of her sisters; an infant son, Donald; a daughter, Sherry; and her first and second husbands.
Phyllis found joy in flowers and gardening, nurturing beauty wherever she went. Her love for nature reflected her nurturing spirit as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Phyllis’s memory will be cherished by all who knew her. May her legacy of resilience and love bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
