Robert E. "Bob” Haffley (94), of Hughesville, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at U.P.M.C. Williamsport Hospital.

Born March 11, 1932, in Lock Haven, PA, he was one of three children of the late Eugene and Edna Mae (Embick) Haffley. In November 1990, he married the former Betty Lou (Murphy) Hill and together they celebrated 36 years of marriage.

Bob was a graduate of Mill Hall High School, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from State Teachers College in Lock Haven, and received Elementary School Principal Certification from The Pennsylvania State University. Bob served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was an educator and an administrator in education most of his life. Following his retirement from education, he worked for Woodmen of the World Life Insurance.

Bob was an avid fisherman, making his own fishing flies and selling some of them on eBay. He also enjoyed carving wood and whittling, making many different shapes and animals. Bob and Betty enjoyed going to a good yard sale and repurposing old items for new uses. They also enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years. Bob enjoyed reading in his free time.

In addition to his wife, Betty, he is survived by a son, Robin Haffley and his wife, Ann, step-son, Bruce Hill, Jr. and his wife, Tammy, stepdaughter, Debra Sue Papay and her husband, Gary, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren (…with two more on the way), and one sister, Katy Shuey.

Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by stepdaughter, Sybil Hill Pauling, and brother, Sidney Haffley.

There will be a private burial held in Muncy Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
