Tammy Heeman Obituary

Tammy L. (Bussom) Heeman, 60, of Picture Rocks, Pennsylvania, escaped to the after party sooner than expected on November 18, 2025. She left our party looking for The Great Gig In The Sky, knowing you've gotta go sometime after a sudden illness.

Tammy was born May 2, 1965. Despite still having so much to do in this life she decided to run like a Bat out of Hell to join her best friend Margaret and beloved pup Carrie while leaving us all here with Empty Spaces.

Tammy joined the Picture Rocks Fire Department in 2001. She served two years as vice president. She also helped as part of the fire police before relaxing as a social club member. She spent forty years working at Ben Franklin after graduating from Hughesville Highschool in 1983. In more recent years, Tammy could be found rocking out at the Angus Inn, helping wherever she was needed.

Those that knew Tammy, knew she loved to be ducked and took great joy displaying them in her Jeep.

One of Tammy's favorite things to do was spoil and babysit her grandpups. It was her wish that her pacemaker be donated to a pup in need, now another pup gets a chance at cuddles and treats because of her.

Sitting at the after party waiting to catch up with Tammy over Bingo and a round of Yahtzee are her grandparents, Paul and Ruth Taylor; father Nelson Bussom;  and her best friends Georgia Felix and Margaret Bitler. Already expecting all the treats mom said she couldn't have is grandpup Freya Harte.

When she skipped out early, maybe hoping to sneak in some solo beach time while blaring Don't Stop Me Now, she left behind her daughter, Kaley and her husband Andrew Harte of Harrisburg, Pa; mother, Penny Bussom of Picture Rocks; and sister Tracy Walton, of Picture Rocks. Her grandpups Bennett and Emmie Harte miss her cuddles already.

Joining her family and grandpups in the chorus of Wish You Were Here are Charles Heeman, Roberta Phillips, Heidi Derhammer, Ann Daly, the staff and regular patrons at the Angus Inn, and all of the individuals who made time in their lives for her. The same old fears, wish you were here.

We've got a table for two, way in the back where we’ll be missing you, Tammy. Please join family and friends to celebrate Tammy's life on December 7, 2025 at 2 pm at the Angus Inn in Hughesville, PA.  Cremation and arrangements handled by Hughesville Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will be at the Picture Rocks Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to your local animal shelter in her name. Donations of pet food and toys will also be accepted at the memorial.
