Valerie Sherwood Obituary

Valerie (Val) C. Sherwood, 45 of Muncy, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, December 30, 2021.

She was born September 3, 1976. She attended Montoursville High School.

Surviving family includes her Aunt Maggie Boyles (Margaret Ault) , Cousins Tierney (Christopher) Gramling (Boyles), Sean Boyles, and she was Aunt and godmother to Olivia and Layla Gramling all of Muncy, father Richard T. (Gloria) Sherwood of Muncy, brother Wesley (Christy) Sherwood of Montoursville and several nieces and nephews.

Val was predeceased by her Maternal grandparents Robert M. and Carolyn E. (Zarr) Ault of Muncy, her Uncle Craig L. Boyles of Muncy, and by her mother Victoria Ault of Montoursville.

Val will be extremely missed by her family, and so many of her friends who were like family; including Kyle, Don, Nicole, and Josh Johnson and Sydney Marino, and her best friend Kay Wallis ("Hands" as she was introduced by Val), and her "pup" Hewitt. Anyone who knew Val knew Hewitt was her Baby Boy; she loved and cared for that dog more than anything. She was an avid Michigan Wolverine Football fan. Usually found wearing tie-dye and driving Volkswagens, she was a free spirit and hippie at heart. She was also known for her love of skulls and horror movie characters.

Val never shied-away from hard work. Her most recent venture was as merchandiser for Arbata Coca-Cola Beverages. Before that, she spent 6 years gracing the aisles in Weis Markets, Muncy. Anyone who ran into Val while grocery shopping knew they would be there 20 minutes longer when Val was working, but nobody missed the chance to catch up. Val also took her work ethic on the road in 2019 with her best friend Kay, on a mission trip to New Bern, NC to help repair homes damaged by Hurricane Florence.

Val's laughter was contagious, she loved attending concerts and road trips, but was most content being with her pup and friends sitting around a campfire, having a picnic, or just hanging out.

There will be a memorial celebration Sunday, January 30, 2022, 12pm to 3pm at The Teek, 104 E. 8th Street, Watsontown, PA 17777
