Velvet Bartlow Mendler Obituary

Velvet Bartlow Mendler, 60, of Hughesville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at her home.


Born January 29, 1961 in Muncy, she was the daughter of the late Walter L. and Arlene L. (Millheim) Bartlow.  She has been married to James G. Mendler for 42 years.


​Velvet was a graduate of Montgomery High School.  She was a member of the Hughesville American Legion Auxiliary Post 35 and the Muncy Valley Moose Lodge #866, where she worked for over 10 years.


She enjoyed spending time camping and being by a nice fire with her family and friends.


In addition to her husband, James, she is survived by her son: James A. Mendler and his wife Kelly of Hughesville, five grandchildren: Dylan Hill, Mason, Jackson, Brandon Confer, and Tierra Lyons; and three sisters: Nancy (Harry) Newman, of Hughesville, Norma (Norman) Egli, of Clarkstown, and Dena (Wally Bohner) White, of Muncy.


Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her, daughter: Michelle Mendler; one brother: Daniel Bartlow; and one sister: Vickie Campbell.


Services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
